Our Partners
Green Tracks has a philosophy whereby we work
in partnership with all our customers to provide the best service possible, from beginning
to end. We also believe in partnerships between organisations and are currently working
with the following:
Strategic Partnerships
Aberdeenshire Housing Partnership
Aberdeenshire Housing Project is a socially responsible
landlord serving 500 properties in the North East of Scotland, many
within our catchment area. We have held indirect talks with them through
their chairperson and are discuss opportunities to secure maintenance
contracts which will reduce their overheads and increase our profit
margin.
Langstane Housing Association
Langstane Housing Association (LHA) was founded in 1977
to provide affordable rented accommodation and now has over 2,000 units
in management throughout the North East of Scotland. Green Tracks
successfully secured funding from the Scottish Executive’s Wider Role
Fund with the aid of their New Initiative’s Manager who now sits on our
steering group. We hope to secure maintenance contract from them in
2008-2009 based on competitive tendering.
Tenants First Housing Association
Tenants First is Britain's largest housing co-operative,
with properties predominately in the greater Aberdeen area, Fraserburgh,
Peterhead and Arbroath. The Co-operative is a non-profit making
organisation that is owned and run by its tenant members for the benefit
of its tenant members. Green Tracks presently receives regular
maintenance and repair contracts from Tenants First and will continue to
maintain, develop and expand this service.
Aberdeen
City Council Care and Repair
Aberdeen Care and Repair (ACR) offer a free service to
owner-occupiers and tenants of private landlords who live within
Aberdeen City. Clients must be either; elderly, disabled or suffering
from long term illness. ACR refer their clients to Green Tracks on a
regular basis for garden maintenance and they are investigating the
possibility of expanding this service.
Castlehill Housing Association Care and Repair

Repair service to owner-occupiers and tenants of private landlords. The
service is available to older people, the disabled or people suffering
from long-term illness. Green Tracks already provides a subsidized

a very complex organisation and therefore has many strategies, plans,
policies and visions at different levels of the organisation. Green
Tracks can help the council deliver a “modern,
effective, efficient and accessible services to the people of Aberdeen”
and assist in the delivery of their social aims. They are looking to
open discussions with personal in their Housing, and Arts and Recreation
departments in 2008 – 2009 with a view to future tendering
opportunities.
Social Firms Scotland

in creating a business that offers real opportunities to those most
disadvantaged within the local community, by enhancing and improving the
environment and generating income through real employment and market
opportunities. This is achieved by promoting service user participation,
events and networking, as well as, providing training and development
potentials.
Training Partnerships
Aberdeen
Foyer
Aberdeen Foyer

prevent and alleviate youth homelessness and unemployment. Our training
programme has been developed in partnership with Aberdeen Foyer and will
link in with their Build and Train, Training for Work and Progress to
Work schemes throughout the course of the programme.
Momentum (Energiser Project)
Momentum’s Energiser programme aims to help people with
mental health difficulties break out of their routine and give them the
motivation and confidence to move forward with their lives. Green Tracks
initially provided conservation days for Energiser and is currently in
discussions with them to reintroduce this as part of their training
programme.
Scottish Association for Mental Health (Earth Project)
The Earth
Project provides a balanced and comprehensive training experience in
horticulture and the environment, for adults with mental health
problems. Green Tracks has partnered the Earth Project on a number of
initiatives and are looking to utilise their experience in soft
landscaping to add diversity to their own training programme.
Garden Craft Products
Garden Craft Products is a sheltered workplace for adults
with learning disabilities. It produces a range of garden furniture
including picnic tables, benches, planters and sheds. Garden Craft
Products provides a product that could realistically utilise for Green
Tracks customers. There is also an opportunity of Green Tracks offering
an interim management and they are currently discussing this option with
Aberdeen City Council.
Healthy Roots
Healthy
Roots
is a community-led initiative to transform 2 hectares of derelict land
in the Middlefield area of the city into a new public park. Work has
involved clearing of the derelict site and the creation of a path
network, flower beds, picnic benches, vegetable plots, composting,
wildlife gardens and several play areas. Green Tracks has been the main
contractor for Healthy Roots and developed a positive relationship with
its board and is looking to secure future contracts within the project.
Broadcairn Construction
Broadcairn Construction is a self-managing operating
department within Broadcairn Community Fund which provides employment
opportunities to long-term unemployed and those recovering from ill
health. This is a relatively new relationship for Green Tracks and as
there is no direct competition in catchment areas, both parties are
looking to develop the partnership and discussing the potential in joint
tender submissions.
Environmental Partnerships
S.C.A.R.F. (Save Cash and Reduce Fuel)
SCARF aims to work through partnership to promote
sustainable use of energy, eradicate fuel poverty and create sustainable
employment and training opportunities. Green Tracks is developing a
successful relationship with SCARF based on marketing and mutual
promotion of our services, both of which are directed towards conserving
the environment

subsidised assistance with environmental management to small to medium
sized businesses throughout Scotland. They have provided invaluable
support, assistance and advice to Green Tracks in their development and
hold a database of business in which Green Tracks further promote their
services.
Aberdeen

supporting and developing sustainable development projects in
partnership with the community. Green Tracks began partnering Aberdeen

compostors sited in allotments throughout the city. Since then they have
been the main contractors and aided in the delivery of their community
development projects.

wholesale grower, nursery and garden/site maintenance service, which
provides work experience and training in horticultural
nursery and garden maintenance work for people who have experienced

felled timber on their site.

recycles waste wood and gives adults with learning difficulties the
opportunity to develop skills in a real workplace environment. At
present half of all income is from sales, and some 38 trainees with
varying forms of care needs are assisted. Green Tracks utilises the
resources provided by either purchasing or recycling wood from them and
hopes to further develop this partnership in the future.
Aberdeen
City Counryside Rangers
Aberdeen City
Council Countryside Ranger Service is committed to working for a
biodiverse, best value and socially inclusive future for all the City's
countryside resources. Green Tracks first worked with the Rangers in

tenders for clearances on Sites of Special Scientific Interest in
the previous two years. As their capacity grows Green Tracks will expand
on this relationship to further develop its conservation services.
