Training Opportunities

Green Tracks was originally developed as a 2 year training programme, before becoming established as a social firm. Our development has seen our training ethic become an essential and integral part of our programme. Members within Green Tracks may undertake a variety of training opportunities, from basic literacy and numerical skills to modular learning within Aberdeen College. These may be used as credits towards Scottish Vocational Qualifications, in various disciplines.

Not only do our work days provide a service to our customers, but also offer the opportunity to develop skills and further any existing knowledge base on site. This may include horticulture, small machinery certificates, joinery, landscaping and design, basic engineering and brick laying amongst others. While machinery is operated, we take pride in using tried and tested methods of construction to avoid cutting corners and costs.

All our training programmes are tailored to suit individual needs, it would be limiting to list all the training opportunities available through Green Tracks, here. However, additional opportunities are also available in-house, such as administration, accountancy and planning etc. Our field workers are each allocated a key worker whose role is to promote and encourage personal development, while providing and identifying potential.

Our ethos with regards training is that: we endeavour to support, encourage and motivate people towards further personal development. As an social firm, we also aim to employ a set number of staff members who have been through our training programme, while setting up a support network for those wishing to return to mainstream employment.
